I am senior researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB, Department for Forcasts and Macroeconomic Analyses) in Nuremberg and Privatdozent (adjunct associate professor) at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU).

My primary research question is: What can we learn from micro data for improving search and matching models of the labor market? This includes questions on wage formation, job and worker flows, firms search costs and recruiting patterns. The main data source for my current research is the German Job Vacancy Survey of the IAB.

My secondary research interest concerns gender specific wages.
